The unique patented anti-vacuum valve of this nipple allows air to flow into the bottle, reducing incidents of painful gas after feeding. Unlike most other standard bottles that limit your baby to a basic sucking motion, the natural shape of these nipples allow your baby to suckle as he or she would when breastfeeding. The Avent silicone nipple is broad and soft. Because the Avent nipple so closely mimics the form and function of the breast, babies can easily alternate between breast and bottle-feeding. The newborn nipple is for newborns or breastfed babies of any age. This nipple features one hole and promotes vigorous suckling. The slow flow nipple features two holes for a slightly faster flow. The medium flow nipple has three holes and is recommended for babies 3 months and older. The fast flow nipple, designed for babies 6 months and older, features four holes. The unique variable flow nipple features a slot instead of holes. By turning the bottle, you can vary the flow to suit your baby's needs. Use a faster flow for the beginning of the feed and a slower one for the end. The variable flow nipple is also ideal for thicker feeds and recommended for babies 3 months and older.
