Album Description
Naoyuki Ondas haunting, original keyboards entwine with a beautiful collage of shakuhachi, erhu, koto and other instruments from Asia, creating a rich and vivid landscape of sounds in "Wings in the Dawn," his second release on the Pacific Moon label. In addition to releasing a previous album ("Dream") on the Pacific Moon label, he has worked on several other Pacific Moon projects as well: as a keyboard player on the albums "River" and "Rainbow" (by renowned erhu player Jia Peng-Fang, with whom Onda often performs in concert), and as one of four composers using the pentatonic musical scale, on Pacific Moon piano compilation albums, "Ancient City" and "Snow." I dont want to only be known as a pianist or composer, but as a creator of a world of sound, explains Onda. That world is not just Japanese or Chinese or American, but more of a utopia found in the heart
