Customer Reviews
5 of 5 stars  Excellent product design
Sunday, February 20, 2005
I received the 'Rabbit' wine bottle opener as a gift from my sister. Its the best bottle opener I have ever used! We had tried many different openers but none performed like the 'Rabbit', which is a pleasure to use. I have arthritis in my hands & prior to using the 'Rabbit' opening a bottle of wine had been challenging. I highly recommend this product to all.

5 of 5 stars  Extremely Easy to Use
Monday, January 03, 2005
I got one of these for Christmas and used it for the first time on New Year's Eve. It works exactly as described. I was surprised at how easy it was to use.

2 of 5 stars  This Thing is Junk!
Monday, December 20, 2004
This thing is truly junkware! My wife bought me the earlier version which did not have the metal gears. It worked well for a while and then one day, poof! three bottles in a row, (figured operator error at first) during a party, get the cork stuffed in! After some examination, a plastic fitting on the beast had cracked. I used it maybe 30 times and since it was now off warranty timewise I chucked it.

Months later I purchased the new and improved metal model. Well here it is maybe 2 years and only about as many uses as before and the thing pushes the cork into a lovely bottle of Shiraz. I don't even attempt to use it thing usually, thus the low mileage, because it makes me nervous. I much prefer my old trusty wing model or even my waiters screw. I uncork about two-or-three bottles a week and they never give me a problem.

Too bad. It's really a nicely designed and aesthetically pleasing piece of junk.

I love this thing. Every time we have friends over, I show them how easy it is to use and how fast. It is extremely funtional and a great conversation piece. Great to give or receive!

5 of 5 stars  Excellent - With a Little Trick
Tuesday, November 30, 2004
I've used my Metrokane Rabbit Corkscrew for four years several times each week and it works great. I've read reviews that some users get frustrated if the screw comes up without the cork. (Well of course). But there's no need to send it back or do any tweaking. There's a simple trick to solve this. After you drive the screw into the cork, grasp the bottle firmly in one hand and turn the clamped Rabbit a quarter turn or so clockwise. This will "start" the cork upward along the screw and out ot the bottle. Now pull the lever back and up it comes ... every time.
