Product Description
Stacie Orrico
Description
As a precocious 14-year-old, Stacie Orrico made her music biz debut with Genuine, a remarkably soulful release that went gold without much fanfare other than that generated by a limited supporting role on tour with Destiny’s Child. Now all of 16, Orrico shows more youthful moxy in a self-titled collection of upbeat pop and more R&B-influenced tracks. Her expressive vocals continue to belie the fact that she’s merely a teenager, as she draws inspiration from idols ranging from Ella Fitzgerald to Lauryn Hill. Orrico also co-wrote eight of her release’s 12 tracks, including hit single "Stuck," an ode to school-age love. Certainly Orrico leans heavy on the talents of producers Tedd T, Dallas Austin, and the Underdogs, who combine to give the exuberant youngster a silky-smooth sound. But for critics who would label Orrico as another propped-up teen artist, check out her starkly revealing ballad "Strong Enough," which shows us a young girl on the edge seeking wholeness in her spirituality. That genuineness, combined with a wealth of vocal talent, makes Stacie Orrico someone to watch. Michael Lyttle

5 of 5 stars  A talented and unique artist....

I really admire Stacie's attitude on how she's not like those Christian artists who focus more on a traditional gospel music. Stacie makes music that generally classified as secular but still acknowledges God in her life.

1) Stuck- I love this song....of course. I know how she feels when she's stuck on someone and can get over him. 5/5

2) More to Life- This song is okay, but not really my favorite. 3/5

3) Bounce Back- This song is cool. 5/5

4) I Promise- Very nice and easy to listen to. 5/5

5) Security- I really like the beats in this song. Very urban. It's my favorite. 5/5

6) Instead- This song is also my favorite. It has like this urban, hip hop beats. Just like the songs I wish sometimes I could know what people is thinking about when they see me. 5/5

7) Hesitation- Very catchy song! 5/5

8) Strong Enough- A good song for encouragement. 5/5

9) I Could Be the One- Once the beats are very catchy and danceable to listen to. 5/5

10) Maybe I Won't Look Back- Kinda Craig Davis like. 5/5

11) Tight- This song is really tight!!! I love this song that I think is one of the best on this album. So I tend to listen to this song very often. The beats and lyrics are very catchy and groovy. 10/5

12) That's What's Love's About- I like it how the violins are playing in the beginning. This song talks about reaching out to people when they're in need. A very beautiful r&b song. 10/5

Overall, I give this album a 10/10! A very good sophomore effort.

Once I heard that Stacie Orrico is singing how great God is and not really using it in her life(at least in her videos), my friends burned(I asked them to) my Stacie Orrico CD. I will refuse 2 listen to a girl who promotes her body rather than her heart. I still can't believe I actually used to look up to her!!! I used to love listening 2 her, but once I heard that Japanese person's review on her videos, my friends burned her CD(they're big pyros!) so while u may listen to some Britney wannabe, I'm listen to Jars of Clay, a REAL christian band who sings from the heart, and "shows" it.
