Great for a big warehouse floor maintenanceMonday, April 11, 2005
I used traditional push broom and dust pan to clean a transportation warehouse, however it's time-consuming and need multiple pushes to get the dust and debris clean. Not to mention the dust was kicked up like smoke. This gadget saves me lots of time and cleans much better quietly. I feel like sweeping everyday now.

A waste of MoneyMonday, January 24, 2005
I watched the infomercial and it sure looked good. I was sorely disappointed. The SpinSweep jams almost immediately, requiring you to bend over to hand clean it. The basket does not hold much, and further, once you take the basket off to dump it, it is a struggle to get it back on. It sits in my garage, cuz I'm back to my leaf blower.

Hoover a name we trust...SHAME ON YOU!Wednesday, December 29, 2004
The Hoover L1400 Spin Sweep Outdoor Sweeper does not work. It will only pick up leaves if you go over them and over them and over them...vaccume style (exhausting). As for pine needles? Forget it!! The needles get caught in the brushes and jam up the sweeper. When you remove the "basket" to empty what you did sweep up, it all falls out; right back onto your semi-clean surface. VERY disappointed in Hoover on this one.

Not for gravelMonday, November 08, 2004
I was excited by other reviews and was looking forward to getting my L1400 to keep on top of the gravel in our garage and in my shop building that comes in on vehicle tires. I am very disappointed. It might do a good job on leafs but it sure doesn't leave a garage floor clean when there is even a small amount of gravel on it. If you have gravel roads or driveway I would search for something else to keep your floors clean or fall back on the dusty broom!

it really works!Thursday, October 14, 2004
After I ordered this, I felt guilty. I mean, isn't it just a glorified broom, at a higher cost? Well, yes--but a faster, more efficient broom, and great for a large area with lots of maple spinners, leaves, dirt, and pens, balls, and other neighborhood kid debris. This is so much faster and more efficient than a broom. And to be honest, I just won't spend the time sweeping all that often if it is going to take a long time. And it does not send up a dust cloud while using it, like a broom does. I am pleased with my purchase, and the guilt is now, mostly, gone. Yes, it is a luxury, yes, you can do without it, but it gets the job done quickly and you can move on to the next homeowner task on the list.
