What a con!Sunday, May 15, 2005
I had been hoping to spend the rest of my natural life watching this film, imagine my anger when it ended after less than two hours. A pity, as it had been going well up until that point. For shame!

A MUST OWN MOVIETuesday, May 10, 2005
I first saw this movie at the theatre and loved it! I had the VHS copy for years and now the DVD. Truth be told, you can watch just the Noah Hathaway parts in half an hour, fastforwarding. Some people have just taped that part. He will forever be known for it.
This was done before all the extreme animation came in. Noah did his own stunts as well.
The most asked question is: What is the name Bastion yelled out?
The part that touched me the most was when the Rock Biter told of how weak he really was, even though he looked strong. We are all like that, no matter what happens in our lives. As many times as I've watched this movie, I always tear up at this part.
The color and photography are SO wonderful.
I will be 59 in a week and I can't see myself EVER tiring of it. People can wax poetic about acting and directing, but this movie must just been seen for itself!
I have felt for years that children are having their imaginations taken away from them by the tv. We need to read more books. I taught myself to read at 3, and it was a good thing, as in my day they didn't do anything about dyslexic children in Catholic schools. I still read mainly fantasy all the time, and I write as well. I hope there will never come a day when I can't give the childlike princess a new name!!!

Did anyone else think this sucked?Sunday, May 08, 2005
Maybe it's because I didn't first see this movie as a child, but I was less than impressed. The main plot line, that a fantasy world created by the hopes and imagination of humans was being destroyed as people gave up on their dreams, initially seemed to have some potential. However, horrendous acting, poorly crafted, uncreative props and a ridiculously storyline made this movie almost unbearable to sit though. For a fantasy story, it was not very interesting, creative, or indeed, fantastic. Maybe I would have appreciated it if I was still five years old, but as I watched it, I was angling for the violent death of the protagonist, and we all know that's never a good sign. Thank God the it wasn't actually Neverending. It just felt like it.

This is one of my favorite movies from when I was a child. This is by far the best film of the series. It does skip around from the book version, although one has to remember that a 300 page book can not be crammed into an hour and a half video without some augmentation. The Gmork, a big black wolf, is quite scary for younger children so parents should excercise some caution. This film also encourages kids to read which is always a plus.

Magical movie!Tuesday, April 05, 2005
When I first saw this movie as a child I thought it was one of the best movies I have even seen. Since I was really into Fantasy movies. But now that I am older and have seen it as an adult I still find it amusing and lovable family movie that tells you that if you follow your imagination the only thing that can come out of it is good. I suggest this movie to anyone who has young children.
