Dont buy this item...Friday, May 06, 2005
Maybe I just purchased a defective one but I took it out twice to use and both times had a problem. The 1st time I was no where where I could heat a bottle and when I went into my diaper bag to get it the stupid thing had already warmed and cooled so my poor child screamed until we found a place that would heat the bottle.
Boiled it again figuring maybe we didnt keep it in long enough the 1st time and then put it in the closet. When I took it out to use it it was already hard..apparently it had warmed/cooled on its own again. I threw it out and desided to buy the 8oz cans of ready to feed to take out with me. This way my baby (now 6 months) drinks her bottle room temp.

Good idea, but not perfect.Tuesday, April 05, 2005
I really liked the idea of this bottle warmer, because I could use it while out shopping with my baby. It works pretty well at warming the bottle, but like another reviewer said, plan on starting it about 10 minutes before you expect to need the warmed bottle. The worst thing about it is how careful you have to be so it doesn't activate on accident. I've had it accidently heat up several times, but only once when I didn't know about it. Of course, that was the time I really needed to use it. If I had to do it over again, I think I might end up with a car-adapter warmer instead.

Not practicalMonday, April 04, 2005
I was attracted to the idea of having a bottle warmer that doesn't require electricity or a car adapter. But, while traveling, you don't always have the ability to boil the product. And then, it takes a LONG time to heat up the bottle. Babies often can't wait that long. My newest technique is simply to use tap water already at my baby's favorite temperature and put it in a thermos. The thermos keeps the same temperature for several hours (or I make the water really hot if I think that I won't be using it until later in the day). Obviously, not helpful for those using pumped breastmilk, but much less hassle for those using formula.

heavy but great for when you're on the goThursday, March 24, 2005
I agree that if you are going to a restaurant or coffee shop, it's easy enough to just ask for some hot water to heat a bottle. And I agree that this IS heavy to add to an already heavy/full diaper bag, BUT it also keeps baby's bottles toasty warm so they're ready when she is, which saves crying & stress of trying to find hot water or a place to sit & nurse - this is easier in the car & in the grocery store or mid-mall. Boiling it for 15 mins. after we're home is no big deal at all - just put in boiling water, set a timer, take it out & it's ready to go for the next time you're out on the go.

Good Idea, But....Wednesday, March 09, 2005
I own one of these things and have used it once. To be perfectly honest, it is rather a pain. Yeah, it's cool that it heats up and all, but boiling the thing for 10 mins to get it back to its gel state sucks. It is also not very lightweight. I don't know about you, but with the amount of stuff I have in the diaper bag, the last thing I need is this thing weighing me down. I have found that keeping a clean bottle, a bottle of water at room temp and some powder formula (save your scoops) work the best for feedings on the road. And if you are at a resturant, it is far easier to just ask for some warm water. Then you don't have to come home and remember to boil this stupid thing. I wouldn't buy it again.
