Wonderful electric kettle. Wouldn't want to do without!Thursday, February 24, 2005
I grew up in Europe and have been missing the convenience of electric kettles in the US. I finally bought this one. While it is certainly more expensive than a plastic kettle, it's worth its money. I use it every day to boil tea water. Also comes in handy when you don't want to wait forever to heat up your pasta water. Another reviewer listed that this kettle was 2200 watts. THIS IS INCORRECT. It is only 1500 watts. It does take a bit longer than the European kettles to heat up water, but it is still more convenient than heating it up in a regular pot on the stove.

Braun makes an Impression Sunday, January 02, 2005
It really does. And it is a member of the new Impression line of appliances from Braun.
I have been using a Braun WK200 water kettle for years and I am quite pleased with it. It is made of quality plastic and made in Germany. I have no reason to think it won't last forever and I use it every day to boil water for green tea.
However, I spotted the WK600 in one of the stores and, after an internet search, found the same kettle for sale that put Amazon's price to shame, at little more than half of Amazon's price. (Sorry, Amazon.) Needless to say, I took advantage of the lower price.
The WK600 is a quality appliance and exceedingly well made, although it is made in China. It will be just at home in your kitchen as it would be on your dining room table.
Some features you will want to know about the WK600:
2200 watts
Capacity: 1.7L
Easy-read water level indicator (both sides)
On/off pilot light (both sides)
Easy water filling through spout
Concealed heating element
Four-way safety switch off incl. auto-off
Cord storage
Washable limestone scale filter
Easy to clean
Colours: stainless steel/black

Like it a lot!Thursday, December 30, 2004
Looks fabulous and functions great. The handle design is firm and solid. We like the switch on the top and the ease in filling the kettle through the spout - no lid to remove. Previously owned a GE electric tea kettle bought from Wal-Mart and it leaked water at the base. I accidentally dropped it and it broke. We used the tea kettle often and replaced it with this. I'm very happy with the Braun; it is worth the money.
