1 of 5 stars  The cure for Beatlemania
Tuesday, April 26, 2005
I am a devoted Beatles fan, but this movie (if you can call it a movie) is truly one of the worst films I've ever seen. Armed with my handy remote control, I figured I could get through the worst parts and just listen to the songs. But can you believe they left out many of the best songs on the Magical Mystery Tour album? Strawberry Fields, Penny Lane, Baby You're a Rich Man, All You Need Is Love, Hello Goodbye? Hello! What were they thinking? The Beatles themselves don't really say or do anything that is interesting or that makes any sense. How could the Beatles write such great music, and create such a bad movie? The one redeeming feature is the band's performance of I Am The Walrus.

5 of 5 stars  Roll up for the mystery tour!
Thursday, April 14, 2005
The first time I watched this movie, I didn't really like it. I didn't like how it made no sense. But now that the second viewing has rolled around, I've changed my mind! This is a great movie, combining psychedelia, great music, and stoner humor. Why was John Lennon so funny when he played the cello during Blue Jay Way? I'll never know. But it made me laugh nonetheless, which is all that matters. Also, I've discovered that while there is no plot to this movie, IT DOESN'T MATTER!!! The movie is great nonetheless; sometimes it seems like there's a bunch of bloopers thrown in there for laughs. The highlight of this movie is the I am the Walrus sequence, a very surreal performance that was way ahead of promo's of the time. Overall, a great movie to a great album. I suggest also seeing Yellow Submarine along with this.

1 of 5 stars  Great movie...HORRIBLE DVD release!!!
Friday, April 01, 2005
This is one of my favorite Beatles movies..but this DVD release is nothing short of sacrilage! The picture is grainy and horrible, the audio is rotten...they even had the nerve to drop the speed on the reprise of the title song at the end of the movie (listen....the song SHOULD be in E...it's in Eb here!) This is terrible...I'm amazed someone as reputable as Amazon even carries it. Let's hope for an official release of the movie soon.

i am sick of people complaining becasue they could find the plot well thats because there isn't one
the funniest bit of the movie is when the lennon wizard comes in and says 'talk about magical mystery, i spent half an hour looking for that sugar' other great bit include when 'flying' starts and 'i am the walrus!!!!'dont even get me started on that wonderful, also when ' your mother should know' starts is also a gas

2 of 5 stars  Possible Bootlegged Copy
Wednesday, February 23, 2005
I got my copy from raretshirts. I'm glad I have a copy on DVD. However, I was disappointed with the quality of the film. It's much like others have said. It is grainy, the color is washed out, and, in my opinion, it's just a transfer from a VHS copy.

The description that you read about the film gives you the impression that the behind-the-scenes material and newsreels will be on the DVD. Not on this one!! Because of that, I was really disappointed. I probably would've given the DVD another star if those things were on there.

In my opinion, if these are the only copies floating out there currently, then get one. But don't pay that much for it. I think I paid too much for the one I got.
