5 of 5 stars  It Really DOES Fit!
Tuesday, March 08, 2005
When I first tried to put the larger tank on the Senseo, it didn't fit. I was so disheartened! Then I read the description of it on Amazon again, and read that it fits ALL Senseo machines. To make a long story short, I tried it again and it DOES fit--you just have to put it lower in the groove than the smaller one. So...Buy it! You'll only have to refill it every other day and, if you're addicted to the foamy, delicious brew as I now am, you'll be glad you did. One more thing, if you buy this at the Senseo Web site, you might think you're saving money cause it's only $16.99. NOT! Buy 2 boxes of pods with it here on Amazon and the shipping will be free. At the Senseo Web site, they charge a minimum of $4.95 shipping, so it ends up costing more.

1 of 5 stars  $20 #$@! bucks?!?

I like the Senseo. It gives you a good cup of coffee fast. But after paying $60 for the 98% plastic machine and then 50-70 cents for the pair of pods needed to make a decent-sized cup of coffee (~.50/cup if you buy the 72 pod three-packs, ~.70/cup if you buy a single 18 pod pack at the Vons down the street), $20 for a piece of curved plastic to replace the stupidly small, stock water container? That's just weak. What do they pay to have this molded? 10 cents?

5 of 5 stars  A great gift idea for the Senseo fan
Sunday, December 19, 2004
This was recommended to me by someone that had purchased one as a gift. I have the machine, ordered one, and love the convenience of less fills.

For anyone you know with a machine, they will love receiving this as an addition. I've gifted two more to others.

5 of 5 stars  A luxury, but almost a necessity!

We've had a Senseo for about 6 months and love it. Obviously the big tank is a bit of an extravagence in the sense that whether you are using the big tank or the small one, the coffee tastes the same. That said, in my mind, a big part of Senseo's value proposition is convenience, so I would argue that being able to fill the tank every other day rather than each day is probably worth the $20.

5 of 5 stars  Handy.

Our Senseo came from Sam's and was packaged with one of these, but I imagine that if I had bought a model without it, we would have eventually bought one. As the directions suggest, we run a cup of water (no pod) through the Senseo when we first start it to get the parts warm and make the coffee come out hotter. It doesn't take long to run through a standard-sized tank of water if you're doing that each time you fire up the machine. The larger reservoir means fewer refillings, about once a day for us instead of two a day.

The downside is that it does make the machine about 3-4" deeper than it would be otherwise, and make it not quite as sleek-looking. It's still very snazzy, though, and I think the convenience is worth a few inches of countertop space.

added 11/30/04: It looks like the Sam's in my area will no longer be stocking the Senseo OR its coffee pods. It's all been relegated to the clearance corner...
