After unleashing their fury on the rap audience on their 1993 title-says-it-all debut "Bacdafucup", one of the rawest and roughest pieces of work in hiphop up to that date, a sonic desert of an album in which traces of what could be called a melody had to be sought for thouroughly in some songs, the south Queens group called Onyx popped up again with what would probably be the best album in their history

Evidently, the ferocious balhedz kept it hardcore on this follow-up. Still, the production style is different - MC Fredro Starr did almost all the production and his arrangements are impressively skillful. "Last Dayz" is an incredible opener and, even though it's hardcore rap, a cleverly implanted vocal sample and its background melody provide this song more soul than any Onyx track had before. The following title track is rougher and more like what you would have expected, but with "Purse Snatchaz" kicking in you are already taken back to vocal samples and a sound that was typical for N.Y. hiphop in the mid-90's but in the case of Onyx was a clear sign of progression

Now I am not trying to say that musically this album is completly different from their popular first effort, and the more melodic style is not ubiquitous on here - many tracks have a very similar feel to them that the tracks on "Bacdafucup" had, for example "Shout" is not far from the famous bawling anthem "Slam"

Lyrically, this album comes to me as a little bit more serious than their oldest work. While Sticky Fingaz still tends to put himself into the role of the completly deranged maniac that made him famous and unique, he does say some more thoughtful and true stuff at times, a side of his that he would not show completly before his great solo album "Black Trash" a few years later. Fredro and Sonsee, while not having Sticky's charisma and comically insane style, contribute to the lyrical side of this album doing relentless hardcore verses, Fredro often outshining the others as for flow and other technicalities

Generally, if you like some other Onyx stuff, this album should be nice for you. In hindsight, one can say that the state the group was in in 1995 was only a logical part of its progress and the album they created during this time might be the highlight in a catalog of solid to very good releases

This album has to be in the top 25 of greatest rap cd's ever. In my opinion BACDAFUCUP by onyx is in the top 5. All We got iz us is the grimiest of the 3 real onyx cd's (disincluding triggernometry and bacdafucup 2). It has sick and dark beats and a lot more reference to death. The most popular song is problably Last Dayz, if you've seen 8 mile the beat is used during a freestyle. Shout is a classic loud onyx screaming song which is nicely done. Betta off dead is probably the worst song on the album just cause of the beat which is just the word "onyx" turned into a beat. Live Niguz is my favorite song on the album. Then everything from Most Def to Walk in New York are AWESOME. Lots of people forgot about Onyx cause of all the bitchass rappers now a day who cant even flow, so pick up some onyx
