Excellent Value! Filled with useable info.Tuesday, November 09, 2004
I really like this magazine, even if its a woman's magazine. Often I find these types of magazines filled with advertisements and articles that never seem to fit a real persons every day life. This magazine features a nice cross section of information on fashion, decorating, cooking, and relationships. I always find something interesting to read in here.

Well-rounded!Thursday, August 19, 2004
I really like the fact that the publishers really listen to their readers. Every year (or is it twice a year?) there is a survey included in the magazine for people to give their opinions about articles they enjoy and those they would rather do without.
I've been reading this for the past 2 years at my local bookstore (and finally subscribed earlier this year). I've seen an improvement not only in the magazine's layout, but in the content as well. I really like how there are "sections" on personal well-being, fashion, motherhood, etc. Since I'm not a parent (yet), I can easily skip over the motherhood section. Because of the layout, it's not hard to flip through and find what I'm looking for.

Not Mao's Vision!Wednesday, May 12, 2004
I subscribed to Redbook to rekindle memories of my glory days. In 1968, at the gates of Berkeley's Sproul Plaza, my fellow White Panthers and I sold copies of Mao's little Redbook. Boy, have times changed!! In the sixties, Mao prescribed hunger and hard work for The People... making them too worn out to question what is best for them -- The Revolution! Today's Redbook wears The People out with capitalist trivia!! Alas, the end result of Mao's Redbook and the current version are similar: The People are led to conformity and full acceptance of their all-knowing leader. But in this reader's humble opinion, Mao's vision reaches further than Dr. Phil or Dr. Atkins! I call upon Redbook to return to its original vision!! Power to the People!!! By the way, the jello salad recipe (May, page 74) is to die for!.... I recommend using the *small* marshmallows:-) Enjoy!

Being Well-Rounded is a POSITIVE thingWednesday, July 09, 2003
If you're a busy mom or a person who considers her family to be the most important priority in life, get this magazine.
Other readers have complained that Redbook is well-rounded, or a little TOO well-rounded. Well, that's exactly what's so great about it. Because it is so well-rounded I haven't had to subscribe to Allure for beauty tips, to In Style for fashion advice, Shape for fitness tips, Cosmo for "romance" tips, etc.
The articles are very helpful- not shallow, as "A magazine reader from CA" stated above. The women's health articles have a lot of depth in my opinion. For example, I would have a hard time talking to my doctors about certain scares that I have regarding my body if it weren't for articles that I found in Redbook. They're not sensationalized articles like I've read in other magazines. Another section I find helpful is the fitness section, which has motivated tremendously. I also enjoy the beauty/fashion section, which features AFFORDABLE beauty/fashion tips. The articles on keeping your husband happy are a bonus, because we all can't be Super Moms. Some of us do want to keep the romance alive despite our daily tasks. As for the articles on children, they are incredibly helpful with the children in my family.
Well, let me just reiterate: If your family is the biggest priority in your life and you want a magazine that's tailor designed for the sexy, responsible mom in you, subscribe to this magazine.
