Henckels Premier Series Manor 45-Piece Stainless Steel Flatware Set, Service for 8
|
 |
Description
Heavy enough for everyday use and elegant enough for company, this flatware suits any occasion and then goes into the dishwasher. It's made of durable 18/10 stainless steel, polished to a mirror finish. Substantial length (9-inch knives), width, and heft qualify it as European size--the kind of flatware that might be found in an upscale bistro. Teardrop-shaped spoons and strikingly tapered handles contribute a contemporary look to this Manor pattern. The 45 pieces break down into complete table settings for 8 plus a 5-piece "hostess" set of serving pieces. A single setting consists of knife, fork, soup spoon, salad fork, and teaspoon. The hostess set consists of 6-inch sugar spoon, 7-inch butter knife, 8-1/2-inch serving fork, 8-1/4-inch serving spoon, and 8-1/4-inch pierced serving spoon. Properly cared for, this flatware should last a lifetime and beyond. --Fred Brack Whats in the Box 8 place settings, 5 serving pieces. Each place setting consists of: knife; fork; soup spoon; salad fork; teaspoon. Hostess set consists of: 6-inch sugar spoon; 7-inch butter knife; 8-1/2-inch serving fork; 8-1/4-inch solid serving spoon; 8-1/4-inch pierced serving spoon. 45 pieces total

Yes, there ARE dishwasher spots....Thursday, December 30, 2004
I've owned this flatware for about three years. It IS hefty, it IS durable and dishwasher spots DO appear on the handles of the knives...and only the knives...and only the knives in this service. I take impeccable care of my dishware and flatware, but this makes no difference to the knife handles. This isn't a particularly big deal, but I thought it would be helpful for potential buyers to know that the prior reviewer's problem wasn't an isolated one.
Love This Product!Saturday, December 11, 2004
My family and I have been using this product for over a year and a half now, and we have no complaints whatsoever. I is a beautiful design and the JA Henckels name proceeds itself. We have also placed our flatware in the dishwasher and had no problem with rusting whatsoever. Maybe it was her water. We have no softner on our water tank and our flatware comes out beautiful. We also use Cascade on our dishes so maybe her soap was too harsh. The only downfall I can see with this set is that because of the polished steel, the set does smudge easily, however that is a quick fish with even a dry towel. I don't know why the previous review was so poor, I find this set to be one of the best sets on the market! Hope you enjoy!

Dishwasher spots on the knives will make you crazyThursday, August 05, 2004
I got this flatware set as a wedding gift; I love the shape and weight of the pieces, but the knives do get rust spots when coming out of a clean dishwasher -- I **always** have to hand wash them when they come out which I find annoying, and it is weird the way the spots *ONLY* appear on the Henckels Manor knives. A careful examination shows that the "head" (??) of the knife is a different piece of metal than the the handle -- it is not ONE solid piece. I would expect this to be the case if it were a steak knife, but this is just a regular table knife which makes me think that water is getting up in there and causing the problem. If you look closely, you'll see a crease between the two parts of the knife. I don't know if this is a sign of good workmanship or shoddy workmanship (Henckels, afterall ??!!). My old cheapy dinner knives seem to be forged from ONE piece of metal, not two melded together, and they don't have this problem in the dishwasher. It is kind of disappointing.

We recently purchased a 45 pc set of Manor at a retail outlet in Wichita, KS. I am trying to find more 5 pc settings of the knife, forks, and spoons. Is there any source?
Thank you,

Excellent qualilty!Friday, November 30, 2001
We bought a set of Henckels flatware for ourselves and have since purchased two additional sets for gifts. They have a weight to them that other comparably priced stainless flatware doesn't have, are very attractive, and this particular style looks great with both traditional and contemporary table settings.
