This is by for the best sub simulation, I have ever played. The graphics are the best I have ever seen in a sub sim. The interface is easy to remember, and understand,so you really don't need to look at the manual.This game won't run in a CD rom drive, only a DVD drive, or dvd+rw dual layer drive. I have a DVD+DVDRW dual layer drive in my computer,so you will have to download the SH3 dvd 1.3 patch, found on the website, so the game will run properly. The copywrite protection, will cause the game to crash if you do not install the dvd patch. This game also have tutorials, that is very helpful. Ubisoft did a great job on this game. It is the way a sub sim is suppose to be,making you feel like you are really on the ocean, you see I am a disabled Coast Guard Vet, who spent a lot of hours on the water. Water is so lifelike, its hard to believe,and remember you have a fast forward feature inorder to speed up the game, so you won't get bored to death. Buy this game, you won't regret it. Trust me.

I have just received my second copy and the game won't load. My machine is fairly new, an HP with a gig of ram and several other goodies but the game won't load. I am sending back for the second time requesting a refund.

I play SH II repeatedly. Although its outdated, it does give you the taste and feel of commanding an American submarine against enemy sea activities.
I was very disappointed that SH III was all about sinking allied forces. I returned it immediately despite knowing it would be an advancement of SH II game-playing.
How can you enjoy sinking your own countries friendly forces even in play?

This is without question the best WW2 Sub Simulator I have ever played. The graphics, surround sound and game play are first rate. I have been spending most of my time playing online with people from all over the world (Germany, France, USA, Sweden)
Finally a game that lived up to my expectations.

I like any good WWII sim I can get my hands on. I was really excited about this one. It was a fun and realistic as I expected, right up there with IL-2 Sturmovik: FB world WWII fun.
