Before using to warm actual food or milk for my son I tested it out. In the recommended time it was hot enough to leave blisters on my wrist when I tested it!

I received this as a gift as well as another bottle warmer by Munchkin. The Avent warmer is by far the best warmer. I use it all the time. It warms the bottle very quickly and has an on / off switch that a lot of warmers don't have! The indicator light turns off to ensure the temperature does not get too hot. You do have to keep a close watch on the bottle to ensure the bottle does not get too hot! I highly recommend this warmer. I have been very satisfied with all Avent products.

I purchased this bottle warmer, however; I barely use it. It does do the job however, since I am using breast milk it's actually a lot easier to warm the milk in warm water before feeding it. So, yes it does do the job but I don't find it most convient. I think this would be much more convient to mothers who are formula feeding and need to warm a bottle quickly during the middle of the night.

I don't think this is worth $40. You can achieve the same outcome with hot water, a pot and stove. And I agree with other complaints about the lack of a timer and uneven float with the bottle. Spend the $40 on something your child will get more use out of!

No beep-beep timer on this; no auto-shut-off -- so a frazzled first-time mom or dad can easily wind up with a bottle of scorched breastmilk. SO UNCOOL. And, crying while pouring the milk down the sink, you *still* might not learn your lesson with that first bottle. If you own the product and its design flaws bug you, call Avent and tell them. If you don't own the product, you're better off placing your milk bottle in a bowl of hot water, which at least won't scorch anything. If you still think this product is one you want, by all means go for it, but, especially if you are warming breastmilk, DO NOT WALK AWAY FROM THE WARMER UNTIL THAT LIGHT FLASHES.
