Excellent, but should be largerThursday, April 07, 2005
This is an excellent cutter, that comes with several different size blade fittings (for thinner or thicker fries). It sets up very easily, and can be easily disassembled and popped into the dishwasher.
The one complaint I have is that the blade base should be a bit bigger so that large spuds can be passed through without having to cut the spud into smaller bits first.
The lever arm is a bit short, so that my wife has asked me to cut the potatos - since some weight has to be put into operating the lever.
It makes uniformly cut fries, that cook evenly. It makes the joy of fresh cut fries accessible to more people - so please skip the frozen fries and give yourself a real treat!

good for occasional useWednesday, January 05, 2005
As long as you don't expect too much, it will do the job. Firm potatoes or sweet potatoes can require so much effort you think the cutter will break. If you plan on frequent use, get a more sturdy, more expensive cutter.

Strong arm?Friday, December 31, 2004
This unit works great if you have a strong arm. Trying to pass a medium sized potato through the smaller grater takes quite a bit of force. I thought it was going to break but eventually this little unit did it's job.

A bargainFriday, December 10, 2004
Quick, works very well--especially for the price. Only down side is that it doesn't quite get clean in the dishwasher (requires some pre-cleaning) and is limited to 3.5 inch long fries.
