The best monitor!Friday, May 13, 2005
This is such a good monitor, I can hear everything clearly even my sons breathing...I would definitely suggest this monitor
A lot of staticThursday, May 12, 2005
Well my baby has 15 days and I bought this product because of the price...but it has a lot of static...it is not at all times or in all places. For example in my bedroom some nights has static and other not and in my other daughter bedroom the monitor works perfectly. I really do not know why but it is happening. I am going to give a couple of days but my husband is considering to return it.

Lots of StaticTuesday, May 10, 2005
I purchased this monitor the other day and thought I would try it out just to see how well it worked before baby comes. Well, I tried one in our bedroom, which is a short distance from the baby's room and got a lot of loud static, no matter where I placed it. I then tried one in our family room (we do not have a very big house) and again, got nothing but a lot of static. Sure, you can turn the volume way down, but to me that pretty much defeats the purpose of a monitor, especially if you are watching TV or maybe outside with a lot of background noise. I will be returning this and looking for another model.

Volume Control IssuesTuesday, May 10, 2005
What I like about this monitor: the easy-to-read light bars, dual receivers, and good reception.
What I don't like: The volume control and on/off switch are on the same dial on the receiver. This means that you have to reset the appropriate volume EVERY TIME YOU TURN IT ON. At first I thought that marking the spot where the volume is perfect with a dot might work. But then I realized that my husband or I always turn the monitor off in the middle of the night when we go to check on or feed the baby so the other can sleep. Then we turn it back on when we return to bed. Well, you can't see the volume control in the dark, so you have to either turn a light on to set it, or guess where the volume should go. The latter's not a great option, because the volume is so sensitive, it's a very fine line between not hearing the baby at all or blasting you out of bed with a sudden cry. Of course, you can unplug the receiver to turn it off, but then you wind up fumbling around trying to put the cord back in while you're half-asleep.
It would seem so easy to just put the volume on a separate control!
Another thing I can see being a problem is that you have to unscrew the cover on the battery compartment to install or change batteries. I guess they're thinking child safety here, but if I'm using the monitor, that means the baby's not in the room, right? Having to track down a screwdriver every time I need to change the batteries is going to be very irritating.
Bottom line: I've had this monitor for only a few days, but already I am annoyed by it. It's going back and I'm getting something else!
WONDERFUL !!!Monday, May 09, 2005
My husband and I purchased a baby monitor by Safety First.. needless to say it was horrible, all we could hear was interference.. Then I purchased the Sounds N'Lights Monitor by Fisher Price.. What can I say they are WONDERFUL!!! We live in a two story brick town house and I can pick up my daughter down stairs crystal clear. And range.. WOW.. I was able to walk down to my neighbor 5 houses away. Went inside her house and was still able to hear husband talking with no static.. I would highly recommend these monitors to any First time parent. A++++++++++
