Broke under light use in less than 6 months.Saturday, April 23, 2005
At first this scale looks like its build with a lot of quality craftsmanship. Then after 6 months with light use (I'm 180lbs and girlfriend is 130lbs) it suddenly stops working. The exterior seems to have a heavy steel frame, but the area with the weight dial (w/ numbers) and the arm that gives you the weight reading must have cost about $.10. It seems that the weight is written on a piece of card paper or plastic. It just came out of its setting and the arm doesnt move anymore. I couldn't figure out how to open it up and fix it either. This scale is not worth the money and completely misrepresented as "quality". I'll never buy Taylor again.
Additional Information: I emailed Taylor about warranty information and they will replace the scale free of charge without a receipt. They only require you to ship your broken scale to them, which isnt cheap. At least they stand by their product even though mine broke so easily.
