Product Description
Hands-Free Gate
Editorial Review
Because of its simple "knee-knocker" mechanism, this all-metal baby gate can be opened with no hands at all--an advantage that will be recognized instantly by any parent who isn't an octopus. The user just places a toe on a floor-level plate, then puts patella to plate (or knee to gate, in ordinary language). Designed for standard door frames, the all-metal gate has adjustment bolts that fit any gap between 29 and 34 inches--though the design tends to go wobbly near the outer limit of this range. And note that the actual opening is barely 18 inches wide. --Richard Farr

5 of 5 stars  We Are BUYING A THIRD!
Saturday, May 14, 2005
We have two of these gates that we use to contain the babies (15 mo. and 4 mo.) IN the living room and to keep the dog OUT of the living room. Easily installed and adjustable. We haven't had to use any extensions. 15 mo. old can't open it but 6 yr. old nephew can operate it easily on his own. We are buying a third one of these to keep the 15 mo. old out of the laundry room. They are WONDERFUL!

4 of 5 stars  Great gate-probably need to purchase extentsions
Saturday, May 14, 2005
We purchased this gate when our baby was a newborn to keep the dogs off of the rugs (where the baby would eventually play) and out of the baby's room. The gates are sturdy and work very well, even when your hands are full. It is great that they swing open both ways AND we did not have to drill any holes into our new home. Very satisfied!

2 of 5 stars  Extensions are mandatory

Extensions should automatically come with this gate because no one has a doorway small enough for the gate to work by itself. The gate is flimsy if you extend the rods to the full capacity, so basically it doesn't extend to 34" without jeopardizing the security of the gate. The gate only extends to 31" safely. Overall I returned both gates for the Sure & Secure Extra Tall Gate which is better because the extensions were already included in the price.

5 of 5 stars  Works great for pets!!!

I've had 3 of these gates for close to 5 years. They're wonderful for areas where you don't want pets to go without supervision. I have had many pet gates, but this one is by far the easiest to use and has held up better than any of the other's. If one of these were to break, I would go out tomorrow and buy another one without hesitation.

5 of 5 stars  GREAT GATE!!!!
Sunday, May 01, 2005
This gate is a must have!!!!! Over the past 8 years, 2 kids and a dog, I have used all kinds of gates but this one is the best....it is easy to install in a standard doorway, my toddler can not climb over it, it's to high for the dog to jump over, it does not mess up you paint from constant putting it up & taking it down. I haven't had one problem with it at all!

One suggestion...Walmart is selling this item slightly cheaper....print out there ad and Toys R Us will price match. :)
