Description
Audiovox's affordable D1710 features a broad, 7-inch widescreen (16:9 aspect ratio) LCD and compatibility with DVD-Video, VCD/SVCD, audio CD, CD-R, CD-RW, and MP3-encoded music discs. You can even enjoy an onscreen slideshow of your digital photos from either Kodak Picture CDs or standard recordable CDs filled with JPEG image files. Both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel surround-sound signals can be routed through the player's coaxial digital-audio output for direct connection to a full-featured audio/video receiver, making this unit as useful in the home as out.

Composite-video and stereo analog-audio inputs and outputs let you hook up additional AV gear for viewing through the D1710, including camcorders and gaming consoles. All audio and video inputs and outputs are of the minijack .125-inch size, so compatible adapter cables are required (one stereo analog audio and one composite-video cable are supplied). Playback options include frame-by-frame slow motion,

Planning an overseas vacation? This is the player for you: the D1710's supplied AC power adapter accepts inputs from 100 to 240 volts AC (50 or 60 Hz), and the player even reads non-region-encoded DVDs in the European PAL format (there's a switch to choose NTSC or PAL). And the screen's anti-glare, anti-reflective coating lets you view it in bright settings like, say, sun-drenched airplane seats.

The D1710 also comes with an AC adapter and a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that provides up to three hours of playback (power consumption depends on the operations of the player, such as screen brightness, volume level, etc.). With the battery pack attached, the unit measures 7.75 x 2.125 x 6 inches and weighs 2.25 pounds. Headphones are not included.

    5 of 5 stars  Wow!

I am impressed! Not only did this unit come with a wealth of power options, it is really a quality product. The picture is crystal clear and has played type of media I have tried. It's light and very easy to use. No problems or complaints from this end1

I won't waste $100 sending in my 5 month old D1710 player that is dead. It didn't have that much use, maybe 20 DVDs. It was ok while it worked. I guess I was lucky it lasted through the warranty. (90 Days)

5 of 5 stars  Great product, great price

I decided to invest in a DVD player to keep my 2 1/2 year old toddler occupied on a cross-country plane flight. This product was definitely a worthwhile purchase. We have had no problems with the player so far, after use on 2 roundtrip plane flights as well as daily usage for a week in the hotel. The battery life is reasonably good, and the picture quality is good as well (no problems with skipping either). My only complaint is that the battery pack is pretty heavy, so the entire unit weighs a bit more than I expected it to.

1 of 5 stars  It may be cheap now....wait till it breaks down

I was given the player for Christmas. The first one did not work and I returned it for another. It worked for 5 months and then started freezing either 10 minutes or a hour into a movie. The warranty is only 90 days and then they charge $100 to fix it. Plus, the Audiovox customer service people were totally rude and unhelpful. They would not even listen, they just kept telling me to send them money. When I went to try to return it at the store the honest saleman did tell me that this was the DVD player most returned. DO NOT BUY AUDIOVOX
