The prickly pear is a small cucumber shaped fruit from the cacti family. A fleshy, spiny skin reveals a sweet, pink fruit. They grow all over the mountains of Sicily, the cultivated varieties are large and sweet and almost seedless. Villa Reale has created a natural, unusual and delicious jam that is uniquely Sicilian. Pairs perfectly with sheep's milk cheeses from the region.
