My son is 7 weeks old and loves the music the star makes. The first time he played on this gym mat his attention was kept for a good 25 minutes. He loves it and so do I!

I just ordered this item and then realized how small it is. 16"? That's smaller than most newborns! Even placed diagonally, the baby can't be more than 22" long. Is it really that small, you who have orderd and love this toy? I would appreciate knowning that in preparation for trying to return it.

I bought this when my daughter was a month old, she is now 18 weeks and only started really playing with the toys about three or four weeks ago. She does however really love the star and I've actually attached it to her carseat instead of leaving it on the gym (she's loved it since I first showed it to her when I bought it). The colors also grab her attention. I agree with another reviewer that they should have included another toy instead of a picture. My daughter doesn't even look at it. The gym is easy to wash and easy to tuck away when not in use. I think that the play mat area of the gym could be larger though. The cost of this gym is a bit high and I wish I had shopped around a little more before making this purchase as I've seen some other playmats since then that may have been a better choice.

I got this toy as a gift for my two infant sons. They were really afraid of it at first. The music is really really loud, and every time I turned it on, they would scream. There aren't a lot of toys on this gym compared to other gyms, and the mirror is pretty much worthless. I added extra toys that hang down lower, which seems to be a lot better. It comes with a really neat little "mini boppy" pillow that is great for a lot of things! Also, the colors are bright and keep them both entertained. Another big plus is that it folds down really easily compared to other gyms and it stores nicely. Plus, it is very washable and can withstand lots of washes because of a baby who spits up a lot.

My son loved this playmat since he was just a few weeks old. He would just lay on his back and stare at the little star. Later, when he started to grab for things, he enjoyed swatting at the little birds and ladybug. He was quite a spitter so we had to wash it many times and the mat washed up well in the washing machine on the gentle cycle. Now that he is 9 months old we have packed it away but it was his favorite toy for a long time! I would highly recommend it. My sister has one for her baby and loves it as much as we do.
