2 of 5 stars  Bernie Mac stole this picture
Thursday, February 24, 2005
In spite of the thin plot line and the volumptous semi naked women, the comedian Bernie Mac stole this picture! He played his part of the low life, club owning, hustler with perfect timing and high humor. He made this movie enjoyable to watch!

5 of 5 stars  This Movie Is Hotter Than Ice
Wednesday, January 26, 2005
The player who attends the club, aptly played by Sir Ice Cubington IV of Willchester (More commonly referenced as "Ice Cube") is a smashing actor. I would go as far as to say he's at the top of his game for this performance.

The plot centers around a young Player growing up in the hood. Now, you may be thinking he plays sports. Afterall, basketball is popular among the youth of today. But no. He is a player, and women are his game. He goes clubbin rather frequently. I believe, if I watched closely enough, the ratio of nights where he goes clubbing compared to nights where he doesn't go clubbing is approximately a 3:1 ratio.

Anyway, this young player gets into a heap of trouble with a white cop named Oliver [..] and is to be jailed for 1st Degree Player Hatin' on a fellow player. However, on their way to the station they begin to talk. A *hilarious* scene takes place, when Ice Cube wants to listen to the radio, and he changes to a rap station. Imagine the surprise on [his] face when he realizes that his newfound companion listens to such zany music! It was truly enthralling.

But I won't spoil any more for you, you'll just have to see the rest for yourself.

5 of 5 stars  The Crazy and Wild World of Stripping!
Sunday, November 07, 2004
This movie sounded stupid when I first heard about it. Who could make a 2 hour movie based on stripping at a club and have it make sense? Obviously, Ice Cube could. This movie stars LisaRaye in her film debut as Diana, who is known to the stripping world as Diamond, a hardworking college student who needs a better way to pay to get herself through school. While working at a shoe store, she meets Trixie (Adele Givens) and Ronnie (Chrystale Wilson). They convince her into quitting her low-paying job and working at The Player's Club, a run down joint owned by a lowlife loser named Dollar Bill (Bernie Mac). When Diana's cousin Ebony (Monica Calhoun) comes into town, she tells Diana that she wants to work at the player's club. Ebony gets caught up in this world and is drowning in the lows of "using what you've got to get what you want". This movie is a thrill ride and the fight scene towards the end is the best part of the movie. Featured in the movie are Jamix Foxx, A.J. Johnson, and John Amos. The plot is perfect and the script is well written. This movie has to be one of my favorite.

4 of 5 stars  Pretty good, Ice Cube
Wednesday, October 20, 2004
Ice Cube really stayed within the storyline. I think his view on the strip game and overall money making was straight. He had the funny stuff in the movie with, Bernie Mac, but overall the movie was a big score for me. Good job, Cube.
