5 of 5 stars  Thank You David
Sunday, May 15, 2005
"A film made for an audience not sufficiently clever to enjoy genuine science . . (omit that last sentence) . . A film of which the 2nd highest critical compliment is "neat" and the better-valued compliment is designated principally by VOLUME: "NEAT!" "

Thank you David for enlightening me ! I was unaware that precognition was unscientific until you came along! What an incredible ego you have, david! Thanks again for your cogent insight into the nature of film! I'll go an crawl into the uncritical hole I crawled out of, master!-whovian222@msn.com

5 of 5 stars  Superb SCI-FI with Tom Cruise at the helm!
Thursday, May 12, 2005
Minority report is based off a short story by famous Sci-Fi author Philip K. Dick (who also wrote paycheck, a movie starring Ben Affleck)

This science fiction-thriller reflects the writer's familiar preoccupation with themes of concealed identity and mind control. Tom Cruise stars as John Anderton, a Washington, D.C. detective in the year 2054. Anderton works for "Precrime," a special unit of the police department that arrests murderers before they have committed the actual crime. Precrime bases its work on the visions of three psychics or "precogs" whose prophecies of future events are never in error.

When Anderton discovers that he has been identified as the future killer of a man he's never met, he is forced to become a fugitive from his own colleagues as he tries to uncover the mystery of the victim-to-be's identity. When he kidnaps Agatha (Samantha Morton), one of the precogs, he begins to formulate a theory about a possible frame-up from within his own department.

Directed by Steven Spielberg, who hired a team of futurists to devise the film's numerous technologically advanced gadgets.

5 of 5 stars  More mind blowing than 'The Matrix'!
Wednesday, May 11, 2005
I really loved this film, at the beginning I didn't expect much, I knew it was over 2 hours and if I didn't enjoy it I'd be dragging along! At the beginning you see the movie is set in the future, about 50 years from now, that didn't really appeal to me much, but as the movie went on, the more and more I was into it and blown away!

In the future they have a 'PreCrime' unit where they stop murders from before they even happen. No murders in Washington D.C. in over 6 years! Not bad, huh? Though it's not that simple. There is so much more to it. It's so explicit, twisted and a wonderful mind blowing Sci-Fi invention as much so as 'The Matrix'!

I managed to predict something in the film, and it came true, then it was blown away right before the guy blew himself away!... You'll have to watch to understand!

I don't want to go through explaining it, its not a simple machine that tells you who is going to commit a crime real soon in the future, its extremely far from it, like they say, it will blow your mind! You will see and understand it all for yourself, and if it doesn't hit you the first time, watch it again.

The main reason I write a review is if I'd really recommend a film or not. This is one of the best films ever made, so I'd definitely recommend it. Like many movies, this is the one you definitely enjoy best the first time round, so pay attention at all times, stay focused, if you miss something quickly go back, because the first time round Minority Report will BLOW YOU AWAY!

PS: If you loved and understood 'The Matrix', then you'll love this movie.

Tom Cruise' best work.

Seriously, it's absolutely mind blowing. Don't wait. Go see it.

4 of 5 stars  THE GENIUS OF SPIELBERG!
Saturday, May 07, 2005
What an imagination this guy has! I saw this movie in the
theater, and thought it was really cool. A world without
murder, someday maybe. If you haven't seen this movie yet,
rent it today, it's great. A couple of parts will make you
jump out of your seat! Excellent special FX too!

5 of 5 stars  Running for your life never was this intense
Sunday, May 01, 2005
This is definatly one of Cruise' best and my favorite of Spielberg's after A.I. Minority Report is snappy, fun and intriguing as Cruise fights to break the rules and find the murderer of his son, and the man who he is supposed to kill.
I say supposed, for Cruise is chief of Police, and Collaberater on a project called PreCrime.

PreCrime in short is supposed to find and stop crimes before they've happened all due to the pheoninimal powers given to three people called the precogs. The Precogs dream of the crimes which is wired into a computer that allows Cruise to view and find the murders. Capture and imprison them.

The only problem is that there is a minority report, being that some preplanned crimes where simply that. Preplanned but without going to really be enacted. Cruise finds this out when he himself is accused of a murder, sending this chief of police on a wild run to escape. Even more intense as Colin Farrell arrives as the FBI agent sent to take over the operations. And who goes after Cruise, even more deadset on capturing then the cops as he believes Precrime is bogus and wrong.

So there's the basic formula to this movie, but what a movie it is. Think of it as Catch me if you can in a space age world, hectic and intrancing.

Spielberg is a genus, and he weaves and tells this story like the best of them. So sit back and enjoy, and let the master take you away into his world.....
