Very Nice. A really cool James Bond Factor. Unlimited ideasThursday, July 29, 2004
This camera is not oing to replace your multi-megapixel digicam or your 35MM camera. But for it's size and convience it takes pretty good little pictures. It has a real James Bond Thing going on that makes it fun to toy with. And in good lighting it takes very acceptable pictures. I like that it is part of the Zaurus archeecture meaning that you could (or someone else could) write a program for video, time lapse photography, video conferencing, etc, etc.
So it's more than just a camera, it potentially is your Zuarus's eye on the world :-)

Not worth the moneyMonday, February 16, 2004
Pictures taken in average light and inside are very poor. May be ok for outside pictures. Software and ease of use are good. You have to remove the screen cover to properly use it.

Poor picture quality, hard to focusFriday, September 13, 2002
Vertical lines and noise in anything but bright outdoor
sunlight. Poor color taking indoor pictures.
The manual notes these and other flaws, and specifically documents that thiese "are not a fault".
Very hard to focus.
Expensive for what it is.
I returned mine. Money is better spent on more memory.

works for meWednesday, May 01, 2002
I just took over 500 pictures with this camera while I was on a trip to Europe. I learned a lot about it in the process. It has some nice features: it's lightweight, durable, easy to plug in and remove from the Zaurus, and it really impresses people. You can store thousands of pictures at the 480x320 resolution, or about ten thousand with a 128MB SD card. On the downside, it drains the battery quickly, and the picture quality varies from so-so to fairly bad. The camera is unusually picky about the lighting level - it does poorly with low light, and also poorly with mixed bright/dark lighting. If you get the lighting right, it can take "acceptable" pictures. If you're the kind of person that cares about picture quality, you're not going to like the output much. If you're like me, just taking [inexpensive] pictures to stick on your homepage, it works like a charm. I'm glad I bought it.
