4 of 5 stars  The Hollywood Life
Wednesday, April 27, 2005
Living in "La La land." This is what Anna Percy calls living in Los Angeles, California. Is Beverly Hills the right location for Anna to change her attitude on life? She's beginning to question if moving here was such a good idea. Her love life expands dramatically but finding true friends is hard. All three A-List novels are great but the third (Blonde Ambition) ties them all together. This book teaches you a lesson about how to act no matter how rich you are.

After Anna's sister Susan, finally goes back to rehab for good, Anna can focus on something other than Susan's behavior. Anna has been hired as an intern and loves her new job. She meets a young screenwriter named Danny and starts to fall for him. While at the same time she's trying to convince her boyfriend Ben, to go back to college at Princeton. After giving herself to Ben, they finally decide to go their separate ways and he goes back to Princeton. Then, Anna could also be falling for her father's assistant/driver whose name is Django. He lives in the guesthouse behind her mansion.

It's hard for Anna to decide which guy she wants. During this time she gets fired from her job because her boss's deceitful daughter (Cammie), who is jealous of Anna. Cammie sets Anna up in a scandal and everyone finds out and begins to dislike her. When this happens Anna thinks she may have found one true friend (Sam). Sam and Anna try to put pieces together to catch the culprit.

Anna works everything out and is offered her job back but she turns it down. She ends up with Danny and she seems really happy.... for now.

Sometimes trying something new and exciting can lead to great experiences in your life. Experiencing her first love, her first "time", and crazy L.A. people is exciting and teaches her how she wants to live her life. After Anna experienced all this she knows what kind of person she wants to be. Snobby "A-List" rich kids teach her that some people can be rude and greedy. We learn from this book that there are choices we can make and if we make a wrong choice its okay because no one is perfect and we all mess up.

This book is great for high school students who like to know about the life of the rich and famous. It's also good for those who are trying to find out where they want to be in their life. Also, it's a great book for those who like some gossip, romance, and scandals.

5 of 5 stars  The Best One Yet!
Saturday, March 12, 2005
I have liked the A-list series from the moment they hit the shelves. Granted, they aren't the best books for teens you will find out there, but they are enjoyable and good, light reads.
The first book was good, and the second was a little slow, but Blonde Ambition is probably the best in the series so far.
In this book, Anna continues with an intership at Apex, Cammie gets a new stepsister, Sam's dad gets a guest role on the new series Hermosa Beach, and Dee looks for love.
As compared to the other books in the series, in Blonde Ambition the characters are much more developed. You see a softer side of Cammie that was invisible in the other books. Anna, however, becomes a little less likeable. But the plot holds your intrest and makes you want to read on!
Overall, this book was great. Certianly not a new classic, but great for teens who are fans of the Gossip Girl and A-list series! :)

5 of 5 stars  AN INSIDERS VIEW OF HOLLYWOOD MUST READ
Sunday, February 27, 2005
I loved this snarky, dishy, hilarious send up of all things teen Hollywood. The writing is witty and fresh, and the voices original. There is actually demension to the characters. Anna is a fish out of water east coast blue blood amongst the Beverly Hills sharks. How she navigates the water is a terrific and fun journey. Perfect for a fun read. This writer clearly knows the inside scoop on Hollywood and rich west coast teens.

5 of 5 stars  Getting Better and Bettter!
Thursday, February 17, 2005
The A-list series started off great with the first book, then it got better with Girls on Film, and then it got really awesome with Blonde Ambition. What is the best about this book is that it has do with the real details of how people live in Hollywood. Anna gets to work on an actual TV show and with Cammie's father at the same time. You can guess how that turns out when Cammie finds out. There's tons of romance, and the same funny stuff that makes these books so great. I can't wait for the next one that I hear is coming in the summer.
