FUNNY IN A 13-YEAR-OLD KINDA WAYFriday, December 20, 2002
This album is funny, but not nearly as funny as watching the morons who take this stuff seriously. Really guys, Blue Mound is NOT the ghetto, and Donnie Franks is NOT a pimp. But these things aren't really what makes this album so bad. Plainly stated--the music is horrible at best. With the exception of a couple of almost-decent (although insanely unoriginal) country-tinged songs, there is nothing here. Has nobody out there even heard of G.G. Allin? Because if anyone has, then they'd realize what a balatant [remake] "Easy Jesus" and the rest of Pimpadelic are.

I have been listening to the pimps' do their thing for about the last three or four years, and there CD's are great. If you really want to hear them you need to head down to Deep Ellum and see them live. I live in Germany now so I have been spreadin' them out over here.

Out for one thingSaturday, July 21, 2001
With album titles like "Southern Devils," "Barely Legal," and "Statetory Rape" it's not hard to figure out that these guys are one of the most vulgar bands around. The majority of their songs deal with picking up underage girls and drugs...the lead singer, Easy Jesus, even claims to be the nephew of the infamous David Allen Coe. With that being said...this CD is completely awesome.
Calling them rap/rock is kind of insulting. Pimpadelic uses a great blend of rap, metal, funk, and DJ scratch work on nearly every song on the album. The duo of Easy Jesus and Dirty K on the mic is an awesome blend, whether it be on a rapid fire track like "My Style" or the mellow flow of "Perpetraitor." Even though their lyrics will offend a large amount of people, the style in which they put it out is incredible. Anyone who is a fan of Kid Rock and Nashville Pussy will love this band.
Pimpadelic live and portray the rock star lifestyle to the fullest. As Easy Jesus states on the album, "I'm a dirtbag, and i still get fine chicks...it makes me feel great."
