5 of 5 stars  A nice electric Kettle
Friday, October 22, 2004
I bought this kettle to boil water at work for coffee and tea. I was hesitant due to some of the other reviews but I've used it for a couple of weeks now and frankly it is a very nice kettle. It boils water rapidly, has a very fair sized capacity and contrary to other reviews it is very quiet. In fact it is much quieter than the Cusinart kettle I have at home. Not only that it is more convenient than the Cusinart because of the larger opening that makes it possible to boil eggs in the kettle. something I can't do with the Cusinart.

The only complaint I have is that it can be a little touchy getting the kettle on its base. Something that is not a problem with the Cusinart.

I can highly recommend this kettle for those who want a powerful electric kettle.

3 of 5 stars  Loud and heavy
Sunday, February 08, 2004
On the plus side, the brushed stainless steel exterior makes it a breeze to wipe clean and the fact that no heating element is inside the pot itself prevents hard water deposit buildups. On the down side, this is one LOUD kettle. Most kettles get loud only at the boiling point but this thing sounds like an airplane is taking off from your kitchen each time to turn it on ! I also found it to be heavier than average while empty which of course makes it VERY heavy when it's full of water. For the price I guess it does the job if you don't mind the loud noise and the weight.
