3 of 5 stars  Needs MORE drama...too down the middle
Tuesday, April 19, 2005
This disc appears to be a compromise for Blige between mature R&B balladry aimed at the older section of her fanbase and street-edged hip-hop numbers aimed at the clubs. This attempt to have it both ways keeps it from being as strong as it could be in either direction but it seems to be the upbeat numbers that are usually best here.

HIGHLIGHTS:
The Neptunes' Pharrell Williams joins Mary for "Steal Away", a celebration of office sex, while "He Think I Don't Know" is a classic soul ballad about a woman whose man is running around. Janet Jackson hit squad Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis are onboard to produce the title track's rebound anthem (Oh, it feels so good/When you let go/Of all the drama in your life/Now you're free from all the pain.....Only God knows where the story ends for me/But I know where the story begins/It's up to us to choose/Whether we win or lose/And I choose to win"). (There's a decent remix with P. Diddy, too). "In the Meantime" is a nice somewhat jazzy mid-tempo number that reminds me of 70s era Stevie Wonder.

LOW SPOTS:
It may not be fair to call it a "low spot" but "PMS" definitely has limited appeal to male fans of Blige. Ladies, would you really listen to a song called "(It's Hangin') A little to tha left"?? Didn't think so...The poem ("Forever No More") isn't horrible but it rings a little false, as though Blige looked up some big words in the thesaurus to impress her listeners. (Note to Mary: "Melee" is pronounced "may-lay")

BOTTOM LINE:
Not the best modern R&B ever I've heard but there's some good stuff here. On the whole, it's a fairly average effort.

5 of 5 stars  The QUEEN Is Back For That.................
Tuesday, March 08, 2005
For one all the haters need to back up off the Queen. She is making Music For those who have things to say but can't. She is a real soul singer, a real R&B singer unlike so many people in this business that call them selves that. No More Drama is powerful mix of Soul and R&B. She pics you up and never let you down she shows you that pain and DRAMA don't always stay around. Haters Always have something to say. After all that pain and Struggle you still Have people trying to hold you down. Damn give the QUEEN the respecet that she deserves.

3 of 5 stars  I cannot listen to No More Drama cd
Thursday, December 02, 2004
The only tracks that stand out on No More Drama are "Family Affair," "Steal Away," "No More Drama," and "Beautiful Day." This album is ordinary, and I sold the cd. The lyrics could have been better.
