"You lie, cheat and steal...."Saturday, May 07, 2005
The first time I ever heard of these guys, I heard the song "Sober" from my friends car, he was listening to there CD. So I asked him if I can borrow it cause these guys seemed pretty talented. after listening to the first few tracks I IMMEDIATLEY ran to the computer and just burned this to another CD....Undertow is with out a doublt one of the best rock album I've ever heard in my life.. The music is just Top Notch and The vocalists lyrics are phenomenal(those lyrics to Prison sex really did disturb me though). This is my first Tool CD and I simply love it and plan on getting there other CD's in the near future but for now I'll still be listening to this classic..
Some songs really made me think though, especially tracks 1 through 4 which are the best racks on the album... Tool is an extreamly talented group that needs more credit to there music but sadly they'll never have that cause we have poser Bands on MTV shining all there light, but who needs them, TOOL RULES!!!!!
If you're looking for an extreamly well made Rock album, with some strong and a bit disturbing lyrics UNDERTOOL is for you, Tool is Genious and I give Undertool a
5 out of 5.....superb album..

their most accessible, a very strong effortThursday, April 28, 2005
Tool is very much a 90's band; they suit that style very well. I don't think they will ever come back because Maynard is thoroughly into A Perfect Circle, but this band left behind some great music. Unless you are a teen you probably won't like it; I think this is the kind of music most people grow out of. Tool is very much related to prog rock with an alternative edge, and they have strange philosophies and embrace songs that deal with sort of complicated and occasionally ridiculous ideas. They are all good players, maynard is a famous singer, and the band is just unusual and rocks. this is a good cd to start with if you are just starting to listen to their music; if you like this cd, get all the others. The other cd's are stranger, but well worth it.

Good albumWednesday, April 20, 2005
I am a die hard for life Tool fan. Anyone who doesn't like them needs to go f*ck themselves because they obviously do not understand what real and unique music is about. Any band can make music. BUT NOT MANY BANDS HAVE MEANING IN THEIR EXISTENCE. To this day, I have yet to hear such music by any other band like these guys have made. Maynard has the perfect voice for this music and I love his passion in his singing. He takes you into his world and makes you feel what he is saying. The best thing about Tool is Maynard's lyrics. They are for your interpretation. he never fully explains the meaning of his songs or what he is truly talking about. The mystery in his lyrics intrigues me because it's as if he wrote them in a way that you could interpret them into your life and make your own meaning out of them. Tool is a great band. I personally like their latest albums because their music is more advanced and sounds more loud and powerful. But one thing was true then and is still true....there is no on like Tool. I doubt that there is someone in this world with the views, conflict, opinion, and emotion like that of Maynard. I doubt there is a band with a bassist who can play like the song belongs to him instead of following what the guitar does, a guitarist who plays like he is psychotic, and a drummer who plays like he has 6 arms. You don't have to be a big Tool fan. But if you don't appreciate them, then what do you appreciate? Because these guys are different and they don't sound like anyone else. And to me that's what defines a band.

Ignore That "Homer Simpson" PoserSunday, April 10, 2005
This is a classic alternative metal release. Tool knows how to make such dark, blistering music that drowns posers in their own blood. It's just that sick. "Sober" has one of the best bass lines you have ever heard, and the guitars will send you into a world of darkness. Tool delivers into your soul and boils your blood. "Prison Sex" is another grand track from the masters of dark alternative music. "Intolerance" makes you get on your knees and beg. Every track is dark, brutal and creepy. Tool is just that good. Their new material may be a tad bit overplayed, but they know how to play some good music. Believe me.

Tool is an alternative band with a bit of industrial taste. Maynards lyrics are a mix of variety from political and society to life in general. With the band A Perfect Circle he did a great cover on John Lennon's Imagine. A Perfect Circle is a alternative band. Just try it for your self.
