Univers Zero were definitely one of the premier RIO/chamber rock bands of the 80s and 90s. Their music is incredibly complex and dense, and impeccably and passionately performed. However this is an earlier outing, featuring more woodwinds and less electric guitar than their later records, and prog fans looking for the famed intensity of U.Z.'s later recordings may be disappointed with this one.
If you were unimpressed with Uzed, and like heavier rock-influenced prog such as King Crimson, I cannot recommend Univers Zero's "Heatwave" highly enough. I consider this to be their best work and one of my all-time favorite recordings. If you prefer the lighter, Canterbury side of things, I'd suggest Ceux du Dehors, which is also an earlier record but IMHO more listenable than Uzed.
Buyers may also want to beware UZ's Heresie: it's very goth! But if you like HeatWave, try also Art Zoyd's Phase IV, an absolutely amazing record.
